El Todopoderoso ha llamado a su seno al señor Kaleth Morales. Y yo me pregunto más bien por qué no hará Él de una vez lo mismo con el señor Fonseca, es decir, cuándo «traeremos flores» a su tumba. O bueno, sin ir tan lejos: cuándo se revelará en sus sueños y le dirá al genial representante del género lolerolé uouó —tan popular entre los que rumbean en Andrés y lugares derivados similares— sabias palabras como «hijo mío, deja ya de cantar o te traigo aquí conmigo, a mi seno. O te mando al Infierno».
Paz en su tumba y paz en la radio. Claro, sólo cuando acabe el duelo o sólo hasta que aparezca algún nuevo «revolucionario del vallenato».

No logro entender que le ponga un tono de satisfacción a esta noticia, o que vea con esperanzas la muerte de otro cantante como Fonseca.

Es que acaso no se da cuenta que Vivo en el Limbo ahora va a ‘rotar’ diez veces más que antes, solo que precedida por Dj’s elogiando a su autor como la gran promesa de la música colombiana? No tardarán en decir que de no haber muerto él hubiera subido a ser más grande que Diomedes. Si Fonseca se muriera tendriamos meses y meses de alabanzas a su nombre y no se podria salir a la esquina sin oir una cancion suya seguida del himno nacional y el llanto falso de algún locutor tropicalongo.

Sino me equivoco el del grito es Alfredo Gutierrez (campeon de acordion en las tierras bavaras, que deslumbro al publico y al jurado con el grito).
Claro, dado que todos estemos hablando del original creador del grito, y no haya nacido algun otro gritador-imitador mientras yo busco el rastro de Alfredo por aca en Alemania.

Pues si, el del grito (al menos el original, y del que me imagino atraves de la pluma del JDZ) es Alfredo Gutierrez. Todo un genio musical “…Zusätzlich zu den traditionellen Instrumenten wurde hier mit E-Gitarre, Bass und Bläsern ein internationaler Big Band Sound kreier…” y hablo en serio. Y mire los creditos de la pelicula, efectivamente a los alemanes les gusta esto. Claro es que cuando se ha crecido escuchando lo que cantan por aca en el campo, pues el vallenato suena lo mas de bonito.
Ahora pensandolo… tal vez no estemos hablando del mismo grito… pues la verdad considero poco probable que ud. conozca de esa musica. Pero en fin…

A mi me causa conmoción la conmoción que causó la muerte de ese cantautor vallenato? Alguien, en un acto de caridad cristina, me podría explicar a quién le gano? Digo es que escuche “que revolucionó” la música vellenata. Y ami,áún con lo que detesto el vallentato de bus, el vallenato llorón y el vallenato yuca, el género, la tradición y la iconografía de esa música si me merece mucho respeto. Entonces, solo a manera de información alguien me podría explicar.

Vuelvo a reiterar que así como a tí te gusta la libertad esa, dizque, de prensa, que llaman, que se enmarca en el derecho de la “libertad de expresión”, los demás tienen derecho a tocar punk, que no es mi favorito, o vallenato, que tampoco lo es, o en últimas este ritmo “Fusion” que es bueno para embolatar muchachitas. ¡¿Y qué?!. En cuanto a lo dicho acerca de Fonseca, me reí bastante. Sin embargo, apoyo lo dicho por Arkaham. Y si usted pide por el alma de aquellos que atropellan el vallenato, sus malignos trabajos tronarán en todo lugar.
Alguna vez decían en La Tele “Pobres de Alejo Durán, Leandro Díaz y Rafael Escalona que tienen que compartir gaveta musical con individuos como Los Diablitos, Los Inquietos y demás disque artistas que atropellan el son, el paseo, la puya y el merengue”.
Cero que ese tipo de deseos solo alborotarían más el fervor hacia este género. Y vea ud, Juglar, que en poco tiempo le saldrá reemplazo a Kaleth, o si falleciera Fonseca entonces a este gato, o sea el que sea.
Así es y así siempre será.

Pero bueno, si ese evento sencillamente abre la compuerta para criticar, pues critiquemos, que carajos. Mauricio (más que el palo de agua), Fonseca y demás son malitos malitos. Letras de Silvio Rodríguez en sus malas canciones, música que trata de robar algo de Rikarena y mezclarlo con Carlos Vives y Chayanne. No iremos muy lejos, sin duda. “Pero son pegajosos”. Y pegachentos y pegotudos, diría yo.

Lástima que ese pelao se haya muerto tan jóven. Cuando apenas vislumbrabra un gran talento y un estilo de vallenato que por fin había dejado atrás a esos esperpentos de las busetas que llaman ahora “vallenato romántico (o vallenato cachaco), se muere absurdamente.
El tal Fonseca, que hace pop tropical estandarizado al estilo de Arnau, Palo de Agua y tantas cosas más, sí es para mí una jartera. como no pegó con la balada, ahora imita mal al Carlos Vives que la gente esperaba (canatando temitas románticos y no el cuento ese del Rock de mi pueblo).
Y si no le gustaba la canción de “Vivo en el limbo”, con la muerte de este pelao se la tendrá que aguantar seis meses más. De verdad pienso que su muerte es una gran pérdida para la mpuesica colombiana, pues Kaleth Morales demostraba una visión musical amplia, con un vallenato moderno, pero con elementos tradicionales, sin pretender modernizarlo metiendole, como hacen ahora todos los grupitos de fusión cachacos, Rock.
Y pregunto, ¿al señor Olaya le gusta algo colombiano en la música?

Los que participan en esta discusión y defienden la música de Kaleth Morales saben mucho de música para decir, por una canción, que el tipo era la revolución total. Porque es así, por una canción. Dudo mucho que, tal como todos esos que se sumaron a la novela que armaron los noticieros, hubieran escuchado al menos todo el álbum. Es más, en los homenajes que mostraron en los noticieros la gente cantaba, una y otra vez y otra y otra y una más, la misma canción de siempre. Puede ser triste su muerte. Pero bájenle un poquito.

Espere Juglar, espere…. que ya vendran meses de homenaje postumo, y la publicacion de sus exitos ineditos, y sino le “hala las patas”, por lo menos Kaleth (q.e.p.d) si lo perseguira hasta cada rincon del planeta con su musica innedita… y hasta no oir no puedo decirle que tan “los inquietos” o que tan “los nenes” es la musica del señor Morales.
En cuanto a Fonseca, entiendo el humor negro al “desear” la muerte de alguien, cosa que no todos pueden enteder como simple “humor”, y me uno a la LPAMPT (Liga pro aniquilacion de musicos pop-tropicalones ) Disclaimer: aniquilacion=no mas divulgacion abierta de su musica.
Y por la falta de links de audio, y lo alejado que estoy del pais mis primeros comentarios no tenian que ver con el tema.

Pues señor Mal Ladrón: Yo sí tuve el placer de oir el disco del tipo (claramente inferior a su canción éxito) y de oir unas grabaciones con solo guitarra de las composiciones de Kaleth Morales y por esos sé de que estoy hablando. El que no sabe es usted que cree que los que oimos música solo estamos pendientes de lo que ponen las emisoras.
Y creame que oyendo esas canciones, así sea solo “Vivo en el limbo” se demostraba un estilo novedoso de vallenato, que por fin iba a dejar atrás a todas esas hordas del vallenato cachaco (o paisa, pues la mayoría de esos grupos graban y viven en Medellín) de los Inquietos y compañía.
Muy distinto es el caso del tal Fonseca y similares, quienes apelan a las mismas letras y al mismo estilito pop tropical que desde hace tanto tiempo se hace desde Miami.
Así que que pena con usted, pero no se trata solamente de una canción.

Aún asñi, “Vivo en el limbo” me parece una canción detestable y como no estoy interesado en conocer la obra que haya dejado este señor y siga oyendo radio en buseta y sigan poniendo esa misma canción una y otra vez pues va a seguir siendo detestable. Dr. Barbarie, mi punto, y saliendome del debate de Kalé, es que si a mi me gusta una vaina no veo el objetivo al hacerme una crítica estupida o burlárme rolescamente (es decir critica arribista, i.e. “Los vendedores ambulantes deben salir de la calle por que son muy feos”). Mi punto es que se debe crear debante pero crítica light NO, como el ejemplo del articulo de Kalé de Miguel Angel. Yo comparto, tratando de entender al señor Olaya, el desespero de que las emisoras pongan una y otra vez las mismas diez cancioncitas durante un buen tiempo, para después pasar a otras diez cancioncitas. Las que se oyeron cuando estaban de moda no se vuelven a escuchar y desaparecen por completo. el problema es de cultura musical.
A nadie le interesa indagar por un artista y solo oye lo que las emisoras promueven, sin sentarse un momento a pensar en las otras canciones y en todos los otros artistas que andan por ahí haciendo cosas distintas.
En el caso de “Vivo en el limbo” yo le dí palo en Barranquilla y Santa Marta, pero evidentemente ya no lo oia después, pues las emisoras la terminaron quemando. Igual pasó con la tal “Colegiala”, que sin ser un vallenato tan renovador como el otro, también pegó bastante, pero vale la pena preguntar, ¿cuales son las otras canciones de esos artistas?.
El problema es que la gente oye música solo pa rumbear y les valen cinco los musicos que las hacen. Si solamente oyen lo que les dicen los programadores de las emisoras, ¿de qué cultura musical están hablando?.
Vuelvo a decir, “Vivo en el limbo” es una buena canción, que pegó inicialmente sin que hubiese “payola” de por medio, sin embargo, ¿por qué las queman de esa forma?. Hay mucha más música, buena y mala, pero que definitivamente se tiene que dar a conocer.

no me voy a leer todos los comentarios, por falta de tiempo, pero le debo al juglar un comentario sobre este tema.
Eso de que “paz en la radio” es falso! Me he enterado de la fatídica muerte del cantucho a media noche del sábado y el dolor de nuestros compatriotas. Esto fue luego de mamarme media hora en un comedero de medio pelo, un montón de canciones re pachucas a todo volumen. Que falta de respeto, hasta cantan esa joda y lloran! noooooooo!!!!

A mí definitivamente no me gusta el vallenato, ni los pseudo-epígonos de Carlos Vives, rancios imitadores de Bacilos que sustentan sus estestores musicales diciendo, con cara de seriedad y mirada filosófica, “lo que nosotros hacemos es música con raíces”. ¿Qué raíces? La yuca y la arracacha son raíces… No hablo en contra de la cumbia o el porro como músicas autóctonas de Colombia, pero esos insignes buscadores de “nuestras raíces musicales” sólo buscan la raíz que ahora está dando más dinero porque es la forma musical colombiana que más se parece al “pop latino” de Miami -pop estefánico-, y desconocen totalmente el bambuco, el pasillo, el joropo, el sanjuanero, el son sureño, la guabina, la guasca, el tango (lo siento, puede que haya sido importado, pero en Medellín al menos se escucha como música propia), y demás (nuestra música es tan variada que es casi imposible saberse todoas las posibilidades).
Repito, no me gusta el vallenato ni la música de Kaleth, pero sí me da pena que se muriera. Y no puedo celebrarlo.

Si encerrara a Shakira y a Juanes en un cuarto no se matarían del mal gusto. Los instintos naturales de supervivencia del mal gusto nos dicen que acabarian reproduciendose, creando una generación de niños benditos de la musica colombiana, que seguramente tocarian la pandereta a las 3 y ganarian un Grammy a los 8.

Dejándola a un lado el debate con el señor Barbarie, que terminó hablando de ortografía… Quería comentar que aunque la mayoría de los cantantes arriba mencionados hacen cosas estefónicas, y no conocen de la música colombia, Cabas si es un buen exponente de la música y la profesionalización del folklore… solo lo digo… espero comentarios…

No hubiera escrito lo mismo si se hubiera muerto… hmm no se, cualquier músico que si le guste. Ambos pensamos que el reggeton es una plaga, pero por Dios, hay que aceptarlo como una de tantas vainas que hay en Colombia y en el mundo, pero tienen que existir… si no sería más difícil ser el crítico diferente que siempre le ha gustado ser. Yo agradezco interiormente a los autores de todas esas cosas de las cuales me quejo.

Hay que hacer una diferencia entre lo que es folklor y lo que es música popular y en este caso creo que Cabas no ha dado todavía en el punto. El folkor es lo tradicional, digámoslo así. Es chevere, pero finalmente es más cercano a una pieza de museo, pues las comunidades se transforman pero el folclor lo hace mucho más lentamente (así permanezca en algunos lugares). Eso es antropología para estudiar y analizar, mientras que la música popular está viva, la escucha el pueblo y no depende exclusivamente del apoyo de los medios masivos de comunicación para volverse parte de la vida de la gente en su comunidad, pues es un elemento constitutivo de la misma.
Así, los géneros que se van desarrollando naturalmente, de acuerdo a los cambios sociales, y que las personas asumen como propios y como identidad personal, se sienten libres y espontaneos, lo cual creo es un aspecto que le falta a Cabas.
Él, como tantos grupos de fusión sobre todo del interior, toma elementos del folclor tradicional costeño (no lo popular sino lo folklórico), con cierto misticismo, saliéndose de la alegría y proposito de esta música que es el ritmo, el baile, la diversión (claro, hay muchos más). A su vez, lo mezcla con elementos del rock, pop y similares.
De esta forma, trata de modernizar el folclor pero no lo popular y por eso creo que Cabas no se siente ni de aquí ni de allá y nadie lo asume como propio. Yo oigo sus discos y son muy bien producidos, pero por alguna razón, no me llegan, contrario, por ejemplo, a una buena cumbia del Joe Arroyo.
Pienso que la idea es buena, aunque ya muy gastada por todos los grupos bogotanos que parten de lo que hizo el “Bloque de Búsqueda”. El cuento chocoloco de meterle guitarra eléctrica a los tambores y a las gaitas, suena bien, a mí me parece interesante, pero algo le falta todavía. Tal vez es afinar el concepto, si es que hay uno.
La idea es buena, pero pienso a veces que profesionalizar el folclor, sería en cierta forma acabar con él. Lo otro son interpretaciones de ese folclor que son muy ricas e interersantes y que deben desarrollarse, así como lo hicieron los argentinos, brasileros y cubanos, que en esto nos llevan años de ventaja.

Para no meterme en cuentos jartos, de esos que citan a “la industria Cultural”, le puedo decir que el folklor -a mi modo de ver- responde a esos elementos tradicionales de una cultura, los cuales sin embargo, poco cambian, mientras las sociedades, en su permanente transformación asumen nuevos referentes de identidad. No quiero decir que el folclor no sea necesariamente popular, sino que en muchos casos -la gran mayoría- no lo es.
Por ejemplo, la Salsa no es folclor, así se nutra del son cubano, el guaguancó, la bomba, la plena e incluso, la cumbia, los cuales en sus manifestaciones originarias sí lo son.
La Salsa obedeció a unas características muy particulares de la comunidad latina de Nueva York y posteriormene del Caribe Urbano, como factor de identidad y cohesión, con elementos también del soul, el rock y el jazz gringos, siendo una manifestación netamente popular, viva y abierta a cambios.
Igualmente la champeta no es folclor, sino una manifestación netamente urbana, popular, producto de diversas influencias, donde lo africano (sobre todo el soukus) tiene en Cartagena un elemento de influencia notable y vital para la identidad y la diversión del pueblo y se arraigó sin necesidad de que la gran industria musical la vendiera.
Las barreras entre esas dos definiciones no son claras y corro el riesgo de caer en contradicciones, sin embargo, si bien mucha de la música popular se basa en el folclor, no lo es necesariamente. Folclor vallenato es el del festival (aunque ese mismo festival ha estandarizado lo que era el vallenato originalmente y sus formas de interpretarlo) mientras que Diomedes, por citar un ejemplo, es una manifestación genuinamente popular, surgida en un contexto natural, que vende discos masivamente y llena estadios. Se basa en una música folclórica, pero con características nuevas, pues es música viva, que acompaña lo cotidiano de quienes gozan con estos géneros.
Otro ejemplo: Petrona Martinez es puro folclor. No es de consumo masivo y seguramente en la costa suena para actividades culturales de divulgación, pero no en las manifestaciones populares de la cotidianidad. Es más, tuvo que pegar en Europa con todo ese cuento de “world music”, donde están encantados con todo lo que le suene a tambores, para que los bogotanos, con mucho esnobismo, fueran a sus presentaciones.
Por otro lado, una cosa distinta es la música impuesta por los medios masivos de comunicación.
Si bien la música popular puede contar en muchos casos con este apoyo, termina cediendo en no pocas ocasiones, a decisiones que estandarizan los géneros. Así pasó con la Salsa, que perdió la fuerza y agresividad de sus primeros tiempos; pasó también con el merengue y el vallenato. Ejemplos como el pop tropical estandarizado -con acordeón o sin éste- que tanto han criticado aquí, son frecuentes y no son -creo yo-manifestaciones populares, ya que obedecen a decisiones de la industria para vender por vender.
Lo popular surge por si solo, y a pesar de que los medios masivos lo impulsen, se arraigan en la sociedad, durante el tiempo. Joe Arroyo, Diomedes -gusten o no a los lectores de este blog- y tantos otros ídolos populares, pueden partir del folclor, pero su música está viva en los pueblos que los escuchan y consumen, mientras que el folclor por si solo, es una base que no se puede desconocer, pero que ya está muy lejos de las sociedades urbanas que se viven y que están permeadas por incontables influencias.

Porcierto, estimado Juglar, por el Grupo Po pregúntele al Dr Barbarie (aunque el señor Lewinski también parece que tiene información), pues dicen las malas lenguas que en su juventud era su presentador oficial, antes de que decidiera optar por la senda del mal (próximamente escribirá sobre “Las Pica Pica).
Sin embargo, Po nada tiene que ver con el folclor, pues modestamente, lo ubicaría como una manifestación popular (algo así como un Sergio Méndez), que llena bares, pero que no intenta el rescate de ritmos tradicionales, de esos que se bailan con polleras y -como diría el Dr Barbarie- lanzan odas al Dios Musirako.
Le cuento que próximanete saldrán en “Mucha Música”, ya le avisaré y se encuentran grabando un demo con todos sus éxitos.
